Bereavement Connection

Picture

Grief may be triggered by the death of a loved one. People also can experience grief if they have an illness for which there is no cure, or a chronic condition that affects their quality of life. The end or change of a significant relationship may also cause a grieving process, such as divorce, a job change, or a move away from family and friends. All of these losses create a powerful emotional piece to try to process.

Everyone feels grief in their own way. However, there are certain stages to the process of mourning. It starts with recognizing a loss and continues until a person eventually accepts that loss.

People's responses to grief will be different, depending on the circumstances of the loss and the experiences, beliefs and understandings that have preceded the loss.

Finding connection and support is an important factor in the healing from loss. Isolation and disconnection often times leads to depression and hopelessness. Connection to family, friends, community, and even companion animals brings the sense of belonging and love to an individual. Connection to spiritual understandings, nature, and a sense of oneness with all things brings meaning and inspiration to life.

Finding grief support brings you connection, understanding, and hope.
