A little about myself:
Who I am: I am a seeker. I am a survivor. I am strong.
The one thing I want everyone to know about me: Everything in my life has happened for a reason and has brought me to this defining moment in time. I am no longer a victim, and I am a fact of life for those who have tried to subdue and rub me out. I am a force to be reckoned with if what I love is threatened. I am stubborn, relentless and slightly pessimistic at times, but in the right context these faults can be used for good. I strive for balance, and peace. I celebrate life.
Things that I do and enjoy: I am married and am a mother of two wonderful girls age 1 &3. I am also a certified paralegal and I am currently working on my B.S. of Paralegal Studies. My hobbies include reading, photography, organic gardening, and creating art. I enjoy spending time in Nature and at the local coffee shop.
My biggest contribution to the world thus far: My unique perspective is my biggest contribution to the world as well as my life in this moment in time.
What is most important to me: Many things are important to me. My husband and children, spiritual family, spirituality, the Earth, and I are all important.
Other things I want people to know: I grew up in a very abusive household. When I made the decision to leave, there were a lot of obstacles on the journey. Not long out of high school, I got into a very abusive intimate relationship. I started not to care about my life. As a result of domestic violence, I became pregnant with my first child. I realized that we deserved better and made the choice of life for my child and myself. Raising a baby on my own was not easy and both my abusive father and ex followed me across the U.S. for about a year. I received help, counseling, parenting and DV classes from two DV agencies. During this time, I made some important discoveries about myself and about the religion I grew up in. I met and married my sweetheart. We had our baby daughter in 2008. About this time I began to struggle with isolation. Not having a mother to call on, I began seeking a spiritual force. I had grown up protestant, but had never been able to accept that way of being. There was very little room for personal feminine growth. I had found solace with Nature as a child, so this is where I started. In search for the Divine Feminine, I discovered The Goddess. She embodies Nature and the sacredness of life. I read many books from many authors and found like minded Goddess worshippers in an online community. I discovered that the Goddess Tradition is very ancient dating back to the beginning of time. She has many faces, but I personally connect with her through the moon’s phases. I found Life Force awareness group and started attending. I then had the realization that in Life Force, everyone seemed to be speaking of the same thing but with different names. Some call it Spirit, God, Source, and since I have joined…Goddess.
