Accepting Change and Changing Ourselves written and posted by SB

The dichotomy of life is that one of the only constants in it is change. Even with that inevitability of change, we as humans, often times struggle to keep things status quo in our lives; typically we do not relish nor invite the potential of change.

What is even stranger is while we tend to strive to keep things consistent for ourselves; we also are often attempting to influence things outside of ourselves by focusing on changing others and even trying to change the world!

When we let go of the ideal of trying to control things so that they do not change for us, and when we accept the fact that our influence to make changes outside of ourselves is limited, we come to see the value in reflecting on influencing the world completely through the process of changing ourselves.

When we seek ways to invite and accelerate that change within ourselves, we come to an honest acceptance of the inevitable. With this acceptance, we are working with the flow of the nature of things instead of fighting against it. It is through this Internalization and integration of change, we can then evoke a difference in the world as this growing process within us dynamically influences all of life through the connection of all things.

What your thoughts and experiences are in regards to change?
